Aerial Workshops

with Liza Rose

New Orleans aerialist and circus educator Liza Rose is headed to Sky Candy to teach a wide variety of apparatus workshops this July!

Liza specializes in Static Trapeze, Rope, Silks, Lyra, and Hammock, informed by a background in dance and gymnastics. She also choreographs, produces, and directs both her own aerial and circus work and that of others.

Originally from Austin, Liza spent fifteen years studying and performing in NYC, LA, and Seattle, before settling in New Orleans in 2013. Highlights include working with Dance New Amsterdam, Manifold Motion, and Seattle Erotic Art Festival; residencies at Emerald City Trapeze Arts and FRED Wildlife Refuge, and co-founding REALM danceproject, ticktock, and Cirque Copine. She founded aerial and circus gym Fly Circus Space in 2016, the same year she was a finalist in the US Aerial Championships.

In addition to coaching and performing internationally, Liza is also a registered yoga teacher, NASM certified personal trainer, a certified nutrition coach, and is currently pursuing a degree in physical therapy.

All workshops are two hours long, cost $100 to attend, and need a minimum of four signups to make. Each workshop will include a few specific muscle group activations, but attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to take themselves through a more thorough warm-up sequence.

All workshops, except Don’t Sweat The Technique, are intermediate/advanced level. Don’t Sweat The Technique is open to all levels and apparatuses, and only requires some amount of prior aerial experience. Other workshops have additional particular prerequisites.
