Swoonhilda Laffyassoff has been there, done that, paid the price (multiple times) and will hopefully some day get it all sorted out. But until then, all she can do is shut herself in her bedroom and overthink every tiny thing that may or may not go wrong, or which may or may not have already gone wrong.

Belle Black Rose has been a Sky Candy pole student since 2022 and has performed in various burlesque shows since 2018. She loves enchanting audiences with her darkly delightful routines pulled from the rich well of disturbing folklore, gothic literature, and the darkest parts of the faerie tale forests your parents warned you to stay away from. Tonight, she's here to pixie lead you into the poison garden, where death smells of oleander and unfurls as softly as datura moonflowers, to explore the morbid side of love and desire.

Ella ama encantar a las audiencias con sus rutinas oscuras y deleitantes, inspiradas por el folklore, la literatura gótica y las partes oscuras de los cuentos de hadas que tus padres trataron de prevenir. She’s opulent, champagne-soaked, and has servant boys falling to their feet. Greta the Great is a burlesque thespian cascading down winding stairs to perform for her own pleasure. Her style is so Classic, it’s baroque; with coiffed curls and dripping pearls that will get even the most destitute lining up to sacrifice for her attention. Greta has reigned on both stage and screen with the likes of Dolly Parton and Chita Rivera. She recently competed and won Behind Burlesque’s Limelight Series Audience Choice Award. Greta la Grande es una burlesca dramatica en cascada bajo unas escaleras sinuosas para hacer su acto por su prorio placer. Su estilo es clásico, barroco, con sus rizos peinados y goteado en perlas, los cuales sacrificaría todo por su atención. Greta ha reinado en el escenario y en la pantalla con Dolly Parton y Chita Rivera. Ella compitió recientemente y ganó el Behind Burlesque’s Limelight Series Audience Choice Award. Traigan monedas para tirarle a Su Majestad.

Amy is excited to share her very first aerial performance with you tonight. She has been training on Sling for a year and a half now. She is so grateful to Sky Candy for becoming her second home and happy place. Amy’s dream growing up was to be a dancer but because of nasty childhood asthma, that dream died. Her aerial practice has allowed her to fulfill the need to move her body in a creative and expressive way.

She would like to thank Amy Myers for her incredible coaching, artistic guidance and inspiration as well as her friendship. She also wants to thank her Sky Candy community, her wonderful friends, and her delicious boyfriend for their enthusiastic support and encouragement.

El sueño de Amy de niña era ser bailarina pero con su asma de niñez ese sueño murió.  Su práctica aérea le ha permitido mover su cuerpo de una forma creativa.

Our next performer spotlight is Jasmine, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practicing, horseback riding, sling queen who has now been studying aerial arts for 5 years. She loves to find the artistry within the technique to create mesmerizing sequences and her happy place by far is when she is flying through the air. Nuestra próxima destacada  artista es Jasmine. Una persona que practica el jiu-jitsu brasilero, que corre caballos, y que es reina de la hamaca llevando ya cinco años practicando las artes aéreas. A ella le encanta encontrar el arte bajo la tecnica para crear secuencias facinantes. Su lugar feliz es volando por el aire. Así que levántense mientras ella les vuelve a la vida porque no se van a querer perder este espectáculo. 

Kalyn took her first aerial class in 2019 and has never looked back. While her true love is lyra, she also dabbles in trapeze. She loves finding ways for traditional aerial to be adapted for plus-sized bodies. This is her third showcase performance, and because she was in high school in the early 2000s this theme truly speaks to her. It doesn't get more emo than Dashboard Confessional!

Jess is excited to bring her third aerial showcase to life on February 14th, and this one is extra special, as it'll be her exact 2-year Lyra-versary! She’ll be performing a Lyra routine to “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” by Panic! At The Disco, showcasing everything she’s learned in the past two years.

Con solo unos meses de práctica de lira, desde agosto 2024, Tierra va  a debutar su espectáculo poderoso y rebelde, inspirado por  ‘King for a Day’ de Pierce the Veil. Mientras estaba creciendo, la música alternativa le ayudó a expresar emociones que no podía poner en palabras y que ahora transforma esa energía cruda en arte aérea asombrosa. ¡No se pierdan esta llamada a levantarse y rebelarse muy inspiradora! 

Amanita is a former goth kid grown into a full-fledged goth adult. They made their burlesque debut with ErotiQueer BurlesQue in 2024. Nostalgic for the unforgettable teen angst they experienced while listening to emo music back in 2005, they've been waiting for it to come back into style for two whole decades and is ready to bring that energy to the stage!

Amanita era una persona gótica cuando pequeña y creció a ser un adulto gótico. Hizo su debut burlesque con ErotiQueer BurlesQue en el 2024. Con nostalgia por la angustia adolecente inolvidable que tuvo al escuchar la música emo del 2005, ha esperado que esa música vuelva a la moda por dos décadas y está listo para traer esa energía al escenario.

Alicia has been doing aerials for 2 years. She's toyed with the idea of performing for a year but felt truly inspired to perform for the first time in this showcase when she saw the theme was emo and pop punk. She was a closet emo kid in high school, listening to the music but never fully committing to the side bangs, raccoon eyes, or bleached hair. In this showcase she takes inspiration from the quintessential emo music video that had a chokehold on her and encouraged the aesthetic for this performance.

Alicia lleva dos años practicando artes aereas. Ella ha jugado con la idea de participar en su primer espectáculo por un año, pero se sintió inspirada en realidad cuando vio que el tema de este espectáculo era emo y pop punk. Ella era un adolecente emo en el closet, escuchando la música pero nunca cometiendo con el peinado o el maquillaje.. Ella se ha inspirado por los videos musicales que le estrangulan y le alientan la estética de este espectáculo.

One-Winged Aerial has been studying silks for a few years and is excited to channel her 16 year old, Evanescence-loving self. She might look demure on the outside, but she carries a lot of angst that fuels her fire. She wants to dedicate this performance to everyone who's been underestimated for who they are, even when they're carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.

One-Winged Aerial ha estudiado las telas aéreas por varios años y está muy animada que va a poder usar este espectáculo como un canal para su ser de 16 años. Su ser que ama a Evanescence. Ella sí que se puede ver recatada, pero ella carga adentro mucha angustia que alimenta su fuego. Ella quiere dedicar su actuación a quien ha sido subestimado por quien ha sido, hasta cuando cargan el peso del mundo en sus hombros.

Sky Candy instructor, Taylor, is filled with pent up angst that she's been itching to release, and she can think of no better way to do that than throwing a temper tantrum on the trapeze. Join Taylor as she laughs, cries, and screams over the ridiculous things she's done for men's attention. She would like to dedicate this performance specifically to anyone who has cried over an amateur DJ.

Sadie has been practicing aerials with Sky Candy for over 7 years and is a frequent performer on both trapeze and lyra. Sadie was inspired by queer angst, specifically memories of her first (very toxic, yikes) ex in college. She wants to give a special shout-out to Sky Candy instructor, Julia Kennelly, who choreographed this piece!
