1. Are there prerequisites to taking an aerial class?
For first-timers, we ask that you try our Intro to Aerial Skills class. This class gives you an opportunity to try out our various apparatuses and see which are your favorite, as well as where your strength, flexibility and body awareness levels are. We will then recommend classes for you to take based on your interests. We have specific prerequisites for most of our classes, and you can check out detailed information on our Series and Drop-in Classes pages.
2. Is there an age or weight limit?
There is no weight limit, but we do require students in our regular classes to be at least 6 years old. Anyone under 18 years of age must arrive to their first class with a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. As a general rule, the minimum age for our regular classes is 13. We also offer Youth Classes for students aged 6-12.
3. How do I advance from one level to the next?
You must meet the prerequisites in order to take a class. You can learn more about our Class Levels here. As you progress, you can move on in your own time or stay at a level where you feel comfortable. If you have any specific questions on how to build the necessary skills to progress, please ask your teacher.
4. What should I wear to class?
For most of our aerial and circus classes, we recommend close-fitting workout clothes and bare feet.
We offer free lockers for storage of personal items during classes. If you would like to secure your personal belongings, please bring a standard padlock with you.
For even more detailed information on what to wear and what not to wear, check out What to Wear and Bring.
5. What should I bring to class?
Our standard rule of thumb is come hydrated and bring water. We do have water fountains available in the building, but we find that, generally, students find it more convenient to have water available in the studio. We also sell bottled water and other beverages and snacks at the front desk.
Every student is required to sign a waiver (or have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian if the student is a minor). We will provide these in advance for groups to speed up check in and anyone can download the waiver and liability release here.
6. Can I arrive early for my scheduled class?
If it is your first class, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your class start time to fill out a waiver. We start all classes at their scheduled time, so please try your best to be on time.
7. Where can I practice after I take a class?
We offer Open Studio for just $15 a session.
8. What are the class sizes and lengths?
Our Drop-in classes range from 15 minutes to one hour, and can have as few as one or as many as eight students. Our Series classes are 75 minutes long, with between three and six students. Class time is spent both trying out the moves yourself and watching others to observe form and technique.
9. How much time in advance do I need to sign up for a class?
It is best to register as far in advance as possible, to ensure that you have the spot you want. Some of our classes get booked up weeks in advance. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re having trouble registering!
10. How do I register and pay for a class?
11. What is your refund policy?
In cases where students have given us sufficient notice (24 hours+ for drop-in classes and private lessons, 48 hours prior to the first class for series enrollments), we can offer an account credit for the amount paid that can be applied to future classes. Other refund policies are listed here.
12. If I miss a Series class, can I make up the class later, or attend another class instead?
We do not offer make-up classes for missed Series classes, except in the event that the class was cancelled by the teacher or Sky Candy. Students must attend the Series class(es) for which they registered. Students who wish to make up missed material can book a private lesson with their instructor.
13. Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes! Please email us at email@example.com, call us at 512-800-4998, or check out MindBody to get one today.
